Sunday 14th May Maynooth Family Cycle

Royal Canal Greenway entrance,
at Railway Station, Maynooth
with 3 cycle options, including
short cycle leg to Kilcock
and return via Greenway,
medium length cycle leg
continue to Enfield and
return back to Maynooth
via the Greenway, and
long cycle leg continue to
Moyvalley
/Fureys Bar (refreshment
venue) and return via Greenway
to Maynooth.

1pm All cyclists Royal Canal Greenway entrance,

Maynooth Library will display
departures on cycling history
from the original ‘running bike’
to modern bicycles, how cycling
enabled different social groups
to be recognised for their
achievements in the 19th century,
the specialist military-bicycles
used by the Allied Armies in World
War Two and cycling during the Cold
War between East and West, & the
‘Peace Races’ and modern cycling
competition including professional
and Olympic cycling.

Thursday 18th May Cycling Exhibition

Kildare Town Library will display
departures on cycling history from the
original ‘running bike’ to modern bicycles,
how cycling enabled different social groups
