DAWN CYCLE – DARKENESS INTO LIGHT

Limerick Ladies Cycling Club invite you on a sunrise cycle in support of Darkness into Light. The cycle will commence in UL East Gate Car Park and travel out to Birdhill for some refreshments before returning to UL.

Time:  5am

FAMILY CYCLE

Limerick Sports Partnership and Limerick City & County Council invite you on a family cycle along the banks of the River Shannon. Join us in UL and cycle the Riverbank all the way to O’Brien Park, where you can enjoy some light refreshments and enjoy the new playground and activity amenities.

BALANCE BIKE PROGRAMME

Tutor-led balance bike programme for pre-schools in Limerick City & County.

COMPETITION – CYCLE TO WORK INITIATIVE

Local employers encourage staff to cycle to and from work during Bike Week. Participating organisations post this on social media, tagging Limerick Sports Partnership and Bike Week 2024. The company with the most social media interactions wins vouchers for local bike shops.

Time:  Commuting hours all week

INCLUSION COME & TRY CYCLING

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, we are offering free inclusion cycling sessions on the Limerick Greenway.

These sessions are guided by Like Bikes and will run from Abbeyfeale. Sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

Time:  10.30 am

WOMEN ON WHEELS CYCLING PROGRAMME

Join our Women on Wheels (WOW) group and get back on your bike. This 8-week programme is the perfect way for you to get back cycling in a social setting.

During the 8 sessions, participants will learn about gearing, braking, cadence, road safety, bike maintenance and how to cycle safely on the road in a group and as an individual.

This programme is led by qualified and experienced road captains.

Time:  6.30 pm

BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP

Limerick Sports Partnership and the University of Limerick are teaming up for a bike maintenance workshop at the UL Farmers Market on Tuesday, 14th May, as part of Bike Week 2024.

Join us for hands-on sessions to learn essential bike care skills from our expert mechanic. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, don’t miss this opportunity to keep your wheels turning smoothly! And while you’re here, why not stick around and enjoy some of the delicious, home-grown produce of the UL farmers’ market!

SPINNING SIXTIES CYCLE

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, Limerick Sports Partnership and Locomotion Bike Rentals invite you on a social cycle along the beautiful Limerick Greenway.

This cycle will go from Barnagh Hub to Abbeyfeale, then return to Barnagh for some refreshments in Platform 22.

Bike & helmet will be provided.

Time: 2.30pm

FRIDAY 17th MAY 2024
BICYCLE ENGINEERING ACADEMY – OPEN DAY

Come to our open day on Friday in celebration of Bike Week 2024! Get a full tour of our facilities and courses on offer.

We offer both full and part time Bicycle Technician and Engineering courses all funded by Limerick Clare Education Training Board (LCETB).

Test your fitness on our stationary bike sprint challenge and see if you can top the leaderboard. Prizes to be won on the day! We look forward to seeing you on Friday 17th May.

EVENING CITY CYCLE

Join us for a sunset cycle through Limerick City to celebrate Bike Week 2024!

Hosted by Limerick City & County Council, Limerick Sports Partnership & Limerick Cycling Campaign, we invite you on a social cycle around our beautiful city.

Starting at King John’s Castle, we will follow the iconic 3 Bridges route, taking in the stunning views of the River Shannon. From there we will return to Nicholas Street, where Treaty City Brewery will host us for some light food & refreshments.

Dont’ have a bike? No problem! FREE bikes will be available! This event is open to all ages and is completely free of charge.

Mark your calendars and join us for an evening of community, cycling, and fun! See you there!

CYCLE 4 SICK CHILDREN – AWARENESS TOUR

Cycle for Sick Children Cycling Club are delighted to announce that this year our Awareness Tour will raise funds for the Midwest School for the Deaf.

This local school does amazing work with children who need an extra helping hand, and hopefully with our fundraising they can do even more.

The weather is improving, so no excuses to start your training! Whether you are a club or team along the route, lets come together for this great cause.

2 hours, difficult) is some technical
features on it with more climbing

Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 35 Km Advanced The White/Garrane Loop (35kms,
4 hours, difficult) is a lot
more challenging in terms of
distance with sections of tight
turns, steep descents and
features such as small rock
steps, exposed roots and

5 hrs, severe) is challenging
in terms of distance but will
take you to the remoter parts
