RUNNING ALL WEEK
BIKE WEEK PHOTO COMPETITION

As part of #BikeWeek2024 we are running a competition for the best cycling photo!

The only requirement is that it must be taken during Bike Week 2024, which runs from Saturday, May 11th, to Sunday, May 19th.

Your ride can be a family cycle, Cycle to School Day, Cycle to Work, leisure cycle, or a scenic cycle – the possibilities are endless! You can submit your entries via email to info@rosactive.org or by sending them to our social media pages.

Bonus points will be awarded for photos taken during one of our events. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs! All entries will be posted on our social media pages.

Closing date Monday 20th May @ 5pm

 

SATURDAY 11TH MAY 2024
VINTAGE BIKE DISPLAY

Bike Week will roll off on Saturday 11th May with a Vintage Bicycle Display at The Square in Roscommon Town from 11am-3pm. There will be a number of old bicycles on display and RSP are encouraging those who may have old/vintage bicycles to bring them along to join the display and celebrate the evolution of bicycles and cycling and its importance to Irish society.

MONDAY 13TH MAY 2024
BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP

Join us for an interactive Bike Maintenance Workshop hosted by Roscommon Sports Partnership! Discover the ins and outs of bike maintenance alongside our expert mechanic, learning essential skills to keep your wheels turning smoothly.

TUESDAY 14TH MAY 2024
ADULT CYCLE SAFETY WORKSHOP BOYLE

Whether you are a beginner, have recently returned to cycling, you wish to cycle to school or work, or already cycle regularly, this workshop will help you develop essential skills to make you a confident cyclist. Participants will learn essential safety and competency skills e.g bike handling, correct use of helmets, bike safety checks and how to navigate in various road environments.

Time:  7-9pm

WEDNESDAY 15TH MAY 2024

Participants will learn essential safety and competency skills e.g. bike handling, correct use of helmets, bike safety checks and how to navigate in various road environments.

OFF ROAD CYCLING SKILLS WORKSHOP

An off-road cycling skills workshop for primary school students focuses on basic techniques like balance, braking, and navigating obstacles. Led by experienced instructors, it aims to build confidence and competence in off-road cycling. The workshop also emphasises bike safety and trail etiquette, providing a fun and educational experience tailored to young cyclists.

DISABILITY CYCLING WORKSHOP

This workshop will be based on one-to-one tuition with one of our experienced cycling tutors. Each participant will have approximately 30 minutes of guidance.

Participants can use their own Bike and Helmet for the programme (the bike must be safe and in good condition). Bikes and Helmets will be available on request for anyone who needs them.

Time:  4-6pm

CYCLE TO SCHOOL COMPETITION

We are encouraging kids to put their CYCLE RIGHT training to use and Cycle to School to celebrate all things cycling! 🚲

Wednesday 15th May is the dedicated Cycle to School Day, primary schools can register for our Cycle to School competition by emailing their details to info@rosactive.org. For more details email info@rosactive.org

CYCLE TO THE SHOP

We are encouraging everyone to cycle to the shop to celebrate Bike Week! 🚲

This Thursday 16th May is the dedicated Cycle to The Shop Day, you will have a chance of winning a prize by cycling to the shop. Our team will be out and about to capture your journey or simply send us your photo to enter our competition.

WORKPLACE LUNCH TIME CYCLE-STROKESTOWN

Celebrate Bike Week 2024 the County Council will take part in the lunchtime cycle around Strokestown Friday 17th of May.

WORKPLACE LUNCH TIME CYCLE-ARAS AN CHONTAE  

Celebrate Bike Week 2024 by taking part in our FREE lunchtime cycle around Roscommon Town on Friday 17th of May.

SATURDAY 20TH MAY 2024
20KM ROAD/TRAIL CYCLE

We are holding a FREE 20KM Cycle event! Starting from Roscommon Community Sports Park on Saturday 20th May @ 10am.Bikes supplied if required, must be booked in advance. Cycle led by qualified tutors.
