3. Limerick competition winners
To capture the joy of cycling we asked CycleLocal participants to put together a limerick (humorous, 5 line poem) around the theme of “cycling adventures”. We very much enjoyed reading the submissions, below are the winning limericks.
First prize – One for all gift voucher
Cathy Jones of Limerick IT
The Brookville Wheelers’ 2020 staycation,
meant on our rothars we saw half the nation,
there may not have been much sun,
but we sure did have some fun,
and it topped every international vacation.
Second prize – cycling goody bag
Jennifer McGrath of South Dublin County Council
There was a middle aged woman with a bike,
who thought ‘Maybe I’ll go for a hike’,
But instead she got brave,
And joined up with Meabh,
Now they tandem whenever they like!
Third prize – cycling goody bag
Evan Brennan of St Vincent’s Hospital
Cycling into work whether its rain or sun,
Setting up the day for the endeavors to be done,
No matter how stressful the day,
And how much hair turns to grey,
Exercise on my bike is always fun
All winners will be contacted in due course and prizes will be sent out in the coming weeks.
