Rickshaws in Ireland

The National Transport Authority (NTA) is the statutory body responsible for the regulation of public transport services in Ireland under the Public Transport Regulation Act 2009 and the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 & 2016.

NTA has been requested by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport to conduct a review of the use and operation of rickshaws throughout Ireland and the potential for the regulation and licensing of that industry.

Submissions in relation to the use and operation of rickshaws in Ireland may be made in one of the following ways:

NTA is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2014 and, therefore, must consider any request for information made under that Act. Any submissions received may be published.
