The National Transport Authority (NTA) has published its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 31 December 2025.
Record year
The year demonstrated both the scale of public demand for better transport choices and the capability of NTA, working with its partners, to deliver meaningful improvements for passengers and communities.
In 2025, over 363 million passengers travelled on TFI public transport services which was another record year in terms of journeys made.
Key achievements
Some of the key achievements in 2025 were:
- Railway Order application approved for Luas Finglas
- BusConnects Dublin E-Spine and F-Spine launched
- Woodbrook DART station opened
- The Dublin Road Transport Corridor planning application approved for BusConnects Galway
- Railway Order application approved for DART+ Coastal North
- Final 3 approvals for Core Bus Corridor Schemes granted in 2025
- Deployment of 124 fully operational electric buses by BusConnects Dublin
- 36 new or Railway Order application approved for DART+ Coastal North Railway Order application approved for Metrolink enhanced bus routes in rural Ireland (Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan)
- New Finance system introduced
- 25% increase in the number of fully electric vehicles in the SPSV fleet
