Contactless Payments launch on TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal services
Passengers travelling on TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal services can now simply tap on using their debit or credit cards or choose mobile payment options though Apple or Google Pay. This rollout offers customers a quicker, easier, and more convenient way to pay for single journeys.
Building on a successful nationwide rollout
The introduction of contactless payments in Louth, Meath and Fingal builds on the successful pilot programme in Cavan and Monaghan and follows rollouts across several other TFI Local Link services nationwide. This continued expansion reflects strong passenger feedback and NTA’s commitment to delivering modern, user‑friendly payment options for people using rural and regional public transport.
Contactless payment for single journey fares
Contactless payment is currently available for single journey fares, whilst daily and weekly fares continue to be available via the Leap website and TFI Leap cards, Free Travel Cards and cash payments remain valid for use across all eligible TFI Local Link services.
This move is part of NTA’s ongoing programme to modernise public transport fare systems nationwide, with a particular focus on improving accessibility and enhancing the passenger experience in rural and regional communities.
