A new campaign from the National Transport Authority (NTA) and the Government of Ireland is encouraging everyone to remember the people behind Ireland’s public transport services and to show respect to the staff who help keep journeys moving every day.
Staff across TFI support customers and provide safe, reliable public transport services
Every day, thousands of employees across the Transport for Ireland (TFI) network work to support customers and provide safe, reliable public transport services. These include drivers, customer service teams, ticket inspectors, station staff, maintenance personnel and many others working behind the scenes.
Respect the People Behind Every Journey
The “Respect the People Behind Every Journey” campaign highlights the significant role these staff members play in keeping passengers connected and reminds us that there is a real person behind every uniform, announcement and customer interaction.
Delays can occur
While most journeys run smoothly, delays and disruptions can occasionally occur. During these times, frontline staff are there to assist customers and keep services operating as effectively as possible. A little patience, courtesy and understanding can make a significant difference.
Everyone can help
Respect Goes a Long Way
Everyone can help create a more positive and respectful public transport environment by:
- Treat staff with courtesy and respect.
- Be patient when services are busy or disrupted.
- Follow reasonable instructions that help keep journeys safe and fair for all.
Public transport is a shared experience, and every member of staff has a life beyond their role and loved ones waiting for them at the end of the day. By showing consideration and respect for the people who keep our transport network moving, we can help make public transport a better experience for everyone.
