The Ceannt Station Upgrade project involves
- the upgrading of Ceannt Rail
- and bus stations
to improve
- passenger flow,
- rail capacity
- and mode interchange.
The upgrade involves
- the provision of a new roof,
- additional concourse space,
- integrated internal spaces,
- a new entrance on the southern side
- as well as new toilet,
- customer information and
- CCTV facilities.
The new station will increase the number of platforms from 2 to 5 and introduce new ticket gates to improve revenue protection.
This Final Business Case (FBC) sought Decision Gate 3 Approval to Proceed for the Ceannt Station Upgrade Project and was prepared in accordance with the Department of Public Expenditure NDP Delivery and Reform’s Public Spending Code (2023), Department of Transport’s Common Appraisal Framework (CAF) (2016 and updated 2021), National Investment Framework for Transport in Ireland (NIFTI) (2021); and National Transport Authority’s Project Approval Guidelines (2020).
