Park and Ride Galway
Park and Ride is an important element of Galway’s transport strategy, helping reduce traffic congestion while improving access to public transport services.
The Galway Park and Ride Strategy recommends the development of a network of strategic sites serving the main approaches to the city. These facilities will allow people to complete the final part of their journey by public transport, helping reduce traffic entering the city centre.
Proposed strategic Park and Ride locations
The strategy identifies:

| Oranmore Rail Station | Approx. 140 additional spaces |
| N59 Corridor | Approx. 290 spaces |
In total, the strategy proposes:
- Three new strategic bus Park and Ride sites.
- Capacity for approximately 1,160 spaces.
- Expansion of rail Park and Ride at Oranmore Station.
- Additional smaller local Park and Ride opportunities.
The Park and Ride network is intended to complement improvements to bus, rail, walking and cycling infrastructure, creating a more integrated and sustainable transport system for Galway.
