The TFI Smarter Travel Team is delighted to announce the launch of Ready, Set, Cycle 2024
Ready, Set, Cycle will run from April 8th to May 17th
The Ready, Set, Cycle programme provides a toolkit and resources for Smarter Travel Partner organisations to encourage and support staff and students to begin, continue or increase cycling on their commute and beyond. Participants will have the chance to win some great prizes while also being offered guidance and resources on many aspects of cycling – from what bike suits their specific needs to how they can purchase a bike through the Cycle to Work Scheme.

Ready, Set, Cycle has got great organisation, team and individual prizes to be won throughout the programme. The competitions include a cycling challenge, a fun quiz, photo competitions and much more!

Marchathon
The Marchathon step challenge is now underway. The step challenge will run until March 31st. The deadline to log your steps each week to place on the Weekly Leaderboard is 2pm every Monday except for St. Patrick’s Day weekend and the last week of the challenge when the deadline is extended by one and two days. Participants can backlog their steps for a maximum of eight days during the Challenge.

The Smarter Travel Mark
Applications for the Smarter Travel Mark continue all year round. If you are an organisation that would like to be recognised for your commitment to supporting sustainable and active travel, you can express your interest and attend one of our information webinars to find out more.
The Smarter Travel Mark is a three tier certification that recognises and celebrates organisations that support active and sustainable travel on the commute and beyond for their workforce, students and visitors, resulting in a reduction in single-person car usage.
New Awardees
We would like to congratulate Maynooth University, SEAI, and the Law Reform Commission on recently being awarded the Smarter Travel Mark.
Certification Levels

Gold: has outstanding measures in place that support sustainable and active commuting and is committed to long term investment and leadership in Smarter Travel |

Silver: has a broad range of measures in place that support sustainable and active commuting and is committed to further Smarter Travel actions. |

Bronze: has basic measures in place that support sustainable and active commuting and is committed to further Smarter Travel actions. |
How to Apply
- Fill in the Expression of Interest form and you will be contacted by the Smarter Travel team.
- Attend an information webinar explaining the steps to achieving the Smarter Travel Mark.
- Submit the application form.
- Prepare for an on-line or on-site audit to verify the application.
- Organisations will be awarded the gold, silver or bronze Smarter Travel Mark certification or receive recommendations for improvement.
