Week 2 Competitions
Virtual Walking Challenge
This week’s competition is a virtual walking challenge. This is an individual competition where we are asking you to walk the equivalent of the Multeen Way, Tipperary which is 35.5kms long. This will also help you to contribute towards this week’s Team Target.
NOTE: this is a virtual challenge you are not expected to walk the actual route.
How to Win:
This 35.5km virtual walk equates to approximately to 7000 steps a day or a total of 49000 for this week. Individuals who reach this target will be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
We selected the Multeen Way walking trail at random from a long list of trails from all four of Ireland’s spectacular provinces.
The Multeen Way stretches from Tipperary Town to the Milestone area. The trail takes walkers through the countryside of the Golden Vale and the Red Hills, via Cappagh White and Donohill, passing the site of the Battle of Sulcoitin in 968 AD. The motte of Donohill was a major store of grain in Tipperary in the Middle Ages. Cappagh White is famous for faction fighting in the 19th century. The route then follows mountain paths in the Red Hills above the village of Hollyford before finishing in the Milestone area.
When you are out and about walking this week you can try to take photographs to include a hill or mountain, historical building, waterbody or walking tracks and trails. Remember to tag us on Instagram: @tfismartertravel and on X: @TFISmartTravel
