The NTA has been made aware of a taximeter programming issue with Digitax taxi metering systems, that may result in overcharging passengers in contravention of the National Maximum Taxi Fare Regulations. If you are operating with this model of taximeter and it is not in compliance with the National Maximum Taxi Fare Regulations, you should cease operations immediately.
The NTA understands that those impacted taxi licence holders will be contacted by the NSAI Legal Metrology Service and their taxi meter installers shortly to inform them of next steps for updating their taxi meters.
